On WeChat, I have as a profile picture a photo of me in which I am wearing a funny expression.

When I set the photo, and for a while after, it looked like an expression of almost shyness. Kind of like a wink, but as a smile. There's a bit of silliness, a bit of trickster, and it's a smile.

Recently, perhaps two days ago, I looked at it again and didn't see the same face The expression was gone. The personality was gone from it (largely) Even when I cover the non-smiling half of the mouth, I can't see what I used to. I don't think I looked closer at the photo or anything, but it's different now It's not waht it was before. I don't like it was much.

But, of course, the photo itself did not change.

An interesting experience relating to perception.
